Our Team…
Here at PFC Engineering we have many different roles each with their own responsibilities and skill sets. With multitude of staff both office based and working around the UK we have a wide variety of team members and great range of knowledge to help with all your energy saving needs.
Paul Mainey
Company Director / Technical Sales Manager
Starting in 1985, Paul worked as an Engineering Apprentice, assembling and installing Power Factor Correction systems. On completion of this apprenticeship, he was promoted to Applications Engineer and worked his way up to Technical Sales Manager.
In 1997 Paul left for a couple of years to specialise in Power Quality for Variable Speed Drive applications, supporting UK and European drive manufacturers and suppliers with consultation, analysis, and solutions. He returned to PFC Engineering in 1999 as Managing Director as the company increased its focus on Power Quality solutions. Heading the management buyout team in 2004, he took up a joint Directorship role.
Paul is an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and a Member of the Institute Engineering Technology (MIET). Paul has a wide range of expertise in Power Factor, Power Quality and Energy Solutions.

Andrew Plowman
Company Director / Engineering Manager
Andrew Plowman is one of our Company Directors, and is also in charge of managing our Site Services team. Andrew started work for PFC in 1996 as a Site Service Engineer, progressing up to Engineering Manager, becoming one of our Company Director in 2004.
Andrews 35+ years experience working in the electrical industry, has provided him with a wide range of expertise in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems.
Andrew also carries out on site training for our new engineers and apprentices, providing them with the knowledge and skills to maximise their own potential as electrical engineers.

Penny Pomphrey
Site Service Coordinator
Penny’s role at PFC is to coordinate the logistics of the Site Services team, liaise with clients to arrange maintenance and repair visits, as well as passing on site reports and quotations from our Engineers.
Penny has worked for PFC over 10 years, and developed good business relationships with all of our clients. As the main point of contact at PFC, Penny will work along side you to arrange site visits at a time that suits you, as well as providing any documentation requested from Risk & Method Statements, to Engineer contact details.

Lisa Moore
Office Administrator
Lisa started work at PFC in 2017 as our Office Administrator. Lisa’s role covers many aspects of the day to day running of PFC Engineering, including providing quotations for annual site maintenance , product sales and processing purchase orders.
Along with the general support of the other office members, Lisa is responsible for managing the upkeep of client records, as well office inventory and supplies orders. Lisa also handles general customer enquiries by both phone and email, as well as welcoming visitors to our offices in Great Chesterford.

Ian Smith
Accounts Administrator
Ian Smith is PFC Engineering’s Accounts Administrator, and has now worked for us for over 6 years. His main duties include preparing financial records, managing the company’s finances, and customer invoices.
Ian also manages all the companies business expenses, along with VAT receipts and vehicle costs. He is also responsible for bookkeeping, tax reconciliation and invoicing.

Richard Stone
Production Manager
As one of our newer members of staff at PFC Engineering, Richard Stone has taken up the role as Production Manager for our workshop team. Richard is responsible for the technical management, supervision, and control of our equipment production. He also responsible for the supervision of our workshop build team.
Richard is also in charge monitoring, organising and replenishing our companies products and supplies as well as carrying annual tool checks and PAT testing.

Fred Hicks
HSEQ Coordinator
Fred Hicks is our in house HSEQ Coordinator and is responsible for providing advice on all matters relating to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management.
As well as managing PFC Engineering’s many accreditations and periodic audits, Fred identifies and implements initiatives to improve all procedures, processes, safe systems of work, offering support and advice on Risk Assessments, Method statements and COSHH.

Ben Wallace
Site Engineer / Systems Coordinator
Ben Wallace has worked as a Site Service Engineer for PFC Engineering for over 10 years, carrying out Maintenance, Installs and Site Surveys for a wide range of customer across the UK. He also helps provide on site training for apprentices and new engineers.
Ben has also recently taken up the additional role as Systems Coordinator, managing the development of our IT systems including all software and hardware solutions.

Aaron Martin
Workshop Foreman
Aaron started working for the PFC Engineering as our workshop foreman’s assistant in 1997. Taking on the task of helping to organize and run our in-house build team. This included stock management, helping design new products as well as building our existing Power Factor Range. Aaron soon built up his knowledge and skill base eventually taking up the full title of workshop foreman in 2001.
Aaron left PFC Engineering in 2018 to expand his knowledge even further in the manufacturing of electrical panels and switchboards returning to us in 2022 to take charge of the design and build of our new Active Harmonic Filter and Metering solutions products, along with providing additional support to the workshop team.
