PFC Replacment in External GRP

Following a Maintenance Service at a UK supermarket chain the Power Factor Correction installed on site was found outside in a GRP container. The unit had not been serviced since its original install in 2008 and was in a poor condition.

An end-of-life replacement was ordered, and a new FS100 PFC unit was installed using the existing mains cables and existing C.T circuit.

The new unit was split into 2 stages of 13.5kVar and 3 stages of 25kVAr and is controlled by a Lovato DCRL 5 digital control relay.
