The C & CB Type

Static Capacitor Modules up to 135 kVAr

The C and CB Type capacitor modules are designed for local correction of individual loads, such as single motors, starters or control gear, where Power Factor Correction is more appropriately located at the source. The CB Series Incorporates an integral Circuit Breaker for independent isolation and overload protection.

Construction
The capacitor unit is constructed from the required number of individual capacitor elements. These elements are manufactured from impregnated
metallized polypropylene and have a self-healing capability. Each element incorporates a fail-safe protection device and discharge resistors.

Ambient –40 to +60°c

Dielectric loss 0.2 Watts per kVAr

Discharge Devices Fitted
Capacitor terminal voltage reduced to 50 Volts within 1 minute (exceeding BS EN 60831)

Paint Specification
RAL 7032 (Eurogrey) as standard. Alternative specifications supplied upon request.

Rated at 415 Volts 3 phase 50 Hertz. Up to 135 kVAr

OEM C Range
This range is specifically designed for the original equipment manufacturer who wishes to enclose the capacitor units within a switchgear or controlgear cubicle. These products incorporate substantial terminals for ease of connection. The extremely low losses associated with these capacitors minimise heat problems and allow the units to be contained within enclosed cubicles which is of special interest for applications in dusty atmospheres.
